solve for y, can you do that?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes. x= 2- y
OpenStudy (anonymous):
sort of, y=2-x, im just going to assume you switched them up accidentally. so that gives you the information about the slope and the y-intercept. Can you tell me what those are?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
the y intercept is -1, and the slope is 2?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
not quite, theyre switched, slope is always right in front of the x so in this case its -1, and the y intercept is the number without the x, so 2 in this case

Ok got it. Thanks!
OpenStudy (anonymous):
but wait, @jeweaver6895 . isn't -x the same as -1? why can't it by the the y intercept?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
@jeweaver6895 , when u r done with this, do u mind helping my question plz?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
thats correct, the -x corresponds to a slope of -1, its not the y-intercept because its associated with the x term.
