Will give medal!! Why might it be more useful to classify Bacteria and Archaea based on their morphology rather than solely on their phylogeny? A) Both domains are capable of sharing segments of DNA with unrelated organisms which makes genetic classification difficult. B) Classifying them by shape is more partial since each domain has its own unique and distinctive shapes. C) Morphological distinctions are easier to represent on paper than phylogenetic relationships. D) The genetic make-up of both domains is so similar that it makes it difficult to make genetic distinctions

distinctions between species**

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe it's B

OpenStudy (aaronq):

What do they mean by "more partial" in option B?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm sorry I was typing fast. The word was "Practical" not "partial" @aaronq

OpenStudy (aaronq):

Oh isee. Well i'm not sure. Do you actually know that bacteria and archaea have different shapes and these don't overlap?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was going by pictures in my lesson and they looked different. @aaronq

OpenStudy (aaronq):

Hm that would be the simple answer, but i think they may not be always distinct. I think it has to do with horizontal gene transfer, in which case it might be A.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you! @aaronq. That was correct.

OpenStudy (aaronq):

no problem! A was right?
