what's the question?
Please please help me !!??? "The artist painted a beautiful picture" is in the active voice. True False "Victoria beams like a ray of sunshine" is a metaphor in the active voice. True False Hating someone you are in love with is an example of a paradox. True False Creative tension is present in all conflicts. True False "Not all who wander are lost" is an example of a common paradoxical theme. True False 1. false 2. false 3. true 4. true 5. false I think these are the answers....im not COMPLETELY sure.
give me a sec.
i would agree to all but the last one. i would say true to that
i would disagree with the first one :o
Wish I was here earlier... So, let's learn. 1. Active vs. Passive. A common but not impossible struggle. The active voice is used when the subject of sentence performs the action. The opposite, where the subject receives the action is the passive voice. [SUBJ: The artist. [VERB]: Painted. Did the artist paint? YES. He performed it. 2. Metaphor vs. Simile. Commonly mistaken for each other. Both are methods of comparison BUT a simile uses 'like' or 'as' to directly make the comparison. If it's a comparison between unlike things but don't have these 2 magic words, it's most likely a metaphor. [DIFFERENCE: My heart flutters LIKE butterfly wings; My heart IS a butterfly, fluttering against my ribs.] 3. Paradox. It sounds completely ridiculous but actually has some logic. It's self-contradictory. A popular few are: Less is more. Wise fool. I am nobody. So you basically have to find logic in the illogical... see what I did there... 4. No definition to offer BUT I'll say this... while arguing, teens can be very creative about the insults they make up on the spot. 5. Paradoxical themes. Take the definitions of 'paradox' and 'theme' and mash them together... or leave them alone in a dimly lit bedroom with rose oil sprinkled on the satin sheets... satin... Basically, it's the paradoxical idea that defines the literary piece. In Romeo and Juliet (believe it or not, I've never done this play in school...) a common PARADOXICAL THEME is Love and Hate. The paradox: How can BOTH these opposing ideals be a major part in the play? But they are... hence the paradox. You'll notice, I didn't answer any of your questions DIRECTLY (it's against OS rules) but I hope I helped you... even though this question is 7 hours old... well I hope I helped someone else as well.
