His father was William Ford (1826-1905), his mother was Mary Ford (1839-1876).Henry had three brothers and two sisters: John Ford (1865-1927), William Ford (1871-1917), Robert Ford (1873-1934) and sisters Margaret Ford (1867-1868) and Jain Ford (1868-1945). He was interested in science and engineering, so in the years 1891-1899 he served as a mechanical engineer and later chief engineer in the Edison Illuminating Company. In 1893, in his spare time, he designed his first car. From 1899 to 1902 Henry was co-owner of "Detroit auto companies," but because of disagreements with the other owners of the company went out of it, and in 1903 founded the Ford Motor Company, which originally produced cars with firm Ford A. The greatest success came to the firm after the start of production of the model Ford T in 1908. In 1910, Ford built and launched the most modern factory in the automotive industry "Highland Park". In 1925, Henry created his own airline company, later named Ford Airways. In addition, Henry began to subsidize the firm of William Stout, and in August 1925 he bought it and started producing aircraft. The first product of his enterprise was the three-engine Ford 3-AT Air Pullman. He remained the leader of the company until 1930, when due to disagreements with the trade unions and business companions he gave to his son Edsel Ford (1893-1943), but after his death in 1943 he returned to leader the company. In 1945, Henry Ford finally gave control of the company to his grandson, Henry Ford II. He died April 7, 1947 when he was 83 years old.
