OpenStudy (narissa):

i need help

OpenStudy (narissa):

OpenStudy (narissa):

OpenStudy (narissa):

OpenStudy (narissa):

OpenStudy (narissa):

do u know this @texaschic101

OpenStudy (narissa):

i know its a or b but i think more a

OpenStudy (narissa):

@StudyGurl14

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

y = 1/3x - 2 In y = mx + b form, the m is your slope and the b is your y intercept. So we have a slope of 1/3 and a y intercept of -2....or (0,-2) to find the x intercept, we sub in 0 for y... 0 = 1/3x - 2 -1/3x = -2 x = -2/(-1/3) x = -2 * -3/1 x = 6.....so x intercept is (6,0) so we need to find the graph that has a x intercept of (6,0) and a y intercept of (0,-2) does that help ? Can you find it or do you still need help ? It is not A or B....try again

OpenStudy (narissa):

let me see

OpenStudy (narissa):

its hard but is it d?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

it is D

OpenStudy (narissa):

thank u

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

sure thing :)

OpenStudy (narissa):

can u help me with more please im going to post them seperately

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

you can post them here if you like...I don't mind

OpenStudy (narissa):

i can i closed it out though

OpenStudy (narissa):

will i get in trouble?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

does not matter...I can answer on closed q's

OpenStudy (narissa):

k hold on u dont want more medals lol?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I do not do this for the medals

OpenStudy (narissa):

ok

OpenStudy (narissa):

OpenStudy (narissa):

OpenStudy (narissa):

OpenStudy (narissa):

OpenStudy (narissa):

maybe c

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

ok....notice that your equation is in point slope form....we want to put it in y = mx + b form. y + 1 = 3/5(x - 3) y + 1 = 3/5x - 9/5 y = 3/5x - 9/5 - 1 y = 3/5x - 9/5 - 5/5 y = 3/5x - 14/5 In y = mx + b form, the y intercept is in the b position. So our y intercept is (0,-14/5)....for graphing purposes, -14/5 is the same as - 2 4/5 to find x intercept, sub in 0 for y 0 = 3/5x - 14/5 -3/5x = -14/5 x = (-14/5) / (-3/5) x = -14/5 * - 5/3 x = 70/15....for graphing purposes, that is 4 2/3 so we need to find the graph with x int (4 2/3,0) and y int (0,-2 4/5) Its a little more difficult with fractions. Do you see a graph like that ? Apparently you do because C is your answer

OpenStudy (narissa):

ya thanks

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

nice job :) you deserve a medal

OpenStudy (narissa):

thank u i need help with a few more u want to help me or do u want me to post them

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I can try to help.....as long as its not geometry...not too good at that

OpenStudy (narissa):

umm i dont know what its called hold on

OpenStudy (narissa):

OpenStudy (narissa):

do i have to divide or something

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

cost = 3 + 0.25x ---- x stands for each 15 minute interval. so if we sub in 3 for x... cost = 3 + 0.25(3) = 3 + 0.75 = 3.75 and if we sub in 5 for x.. cost = 3 + 0.25(5) = 3 + 1.25 = 4.25 see how I am doing this....and this matches table B

OpenStudy (narissa):

oh ok thank u

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

your very welcome :)

OpenStudy (narissa):

u seem very nice and intelligent

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I try :)

OpenStudy (narissa):

u want to help me more the next one is a graph

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I can try

OpenStudy (narissa):

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

slope = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1) (0,6)...x1 = 0 and y1 = 6 (40,4)...x2 = 40 and y2 = 4 now we sub and find the slope slope = (4 - 6) / (40 - 0) slope = -2/40 slope = -1/20.....or - 0.05 its gonna be A

OpenStudy (narissa):

4 more?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

ask away

OpenStudy (narissa):

u r sooo nice u deserve medals im gonna post the rest k

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

its up to you

OpenStudy (narissa):

once u respond i will close it but do u want me to tag u?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

not necessary...I will see your post

OpenStudy (narissa):

k
