Make b the subject:
\[a = \frac{ 2 - 7b }{ b - 5 }\]
I've gotten ab + 7b = 7 so far
Do you mean "solve for the variable b"?
make b the subject. so b is on its own on one side of the equation.
Yeah
I don't think I've ever heard it phrased that way. :) If you don't mind my asking, what country do you live in? Also here are the first few steps.
Please forgive my handwriting, I just got a new tablet and I'm still adjusting to the settings.
ty, and UK
Multiply b - 5 to both sides.
ty, but where do i go from ab - 5a = 2 - 7b?
see the eqn. is in two variables, there can be any value of a , if you put b & vice -versa
if a=2 then value of b comes out of eqn.
so a and b can have infinite sol. not one solution
i need to rearange the equation to get b on its own for this
wait, nvm i've figured it out.
ok
