What are situations in which the cell cycle might occur more quikly than normal?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you think???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well when people have cancer they produce too many cancer cells if that's what your asking

OpenStudy (hectoroftroy):

Cancer's obviously a disease state that results from loss of normal cell cycle progression. Mild hypoxic stress (i.e., not enough oxygen, as in exercise) causes myeloid progenitor cells (i.e., new blood cells forming in the bone marrow) to divide. Increasing oxygen carrying capacity. Sloughing of skin cells (as in dead skin cells fall off) induces cell cycle progression in stem cells lower down in your epidermis, so you get a sunburn and it promotes cell cycle progression in the cells that will replace the dead ones. There are a few non-disease examples floating around out there.
