1/2log(2x+1)-[log(x+1)-3/2log(2x+1) Please and thanks!

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmmm looks like \(\bf \cfrac{1}{2}log(2x+1)-\left[ log(x+1)-\cfrac{3}{2}log(2x+1) \right]\) but there isn't really any question per se, just a statement

I have to use the properties of logarithms to solve

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmm to simplify I assume you mean http://www.chilimath.com/algebra/advanced/log/images/466x428xrules,P20of,P20exponents.gif.pagespeed.ic.1z7-Ekl5L5.png <--- notice the log rules there use the 3rd rule listed first to get rid of the log coefficients, the 1/2 and 3/2 then use rule 2 in the bracketted group then use rule 2 again then simplify the expression in the resultant log
