Which mental image does the imagery in these lines evoke? Ere, in the northern gale, The summer tresses of the trees are gone, The woods of Autumn, all around our vale, Have put their glory on.

OpenStudy (jgirl128):

what do you think of when you read this stanza?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a field ready for harvesting a forest shedding its foliage a grassy landscape a blossoming garden

OpenStudy (jgirl128):

try to analyze the lines. "ere" means before and "gale" means strong winds. "Before, in the northern wind" "tresses" means a lock of hair. in this case, the tree's tresses would mean leaves. "vale" means valley. so put it all together
