The concentration of salt is higher inside a cell than outside the cell. The concentration of water inside the cell is lower than it is outside. Salt cannot pass through the cell membrane. What will happen to the concentrations of water and salt?

HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!

OpenStudy (ookawaiioo):

The water will move into the cell by a process called osmosis. The cell is called hypertonic in respect to the environment.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

By osmosis, a substance moves from zone of high to zone of low concentration, hence water will move into the cell. As for the salt, because it cannot move out, the cell will become turgid and could eventually burst.
