1.Pose a question for which a two-way table is appropriate. Be creative here! Collect data from at least 20 people (or other sources). Display your data in a two-way frequency table like the one shown below. Your table can have more rows or columns if you need them. My work: • The president of a school gave their peers a survey on the death penalty and life in prison. He asked male and females. They were asked to bubble in which one should be taken away. Well this will work well with a two-way table.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

• 300 female students want the death row penalty to be gone. • 350 Male students want the death row penalty to be gone. • 300 Female students want the life in prison to be gone. • 50 Male students want the life in prison to be gone. • That is a total of 1,000 students that chosen b/t death row and life in prison. • Now plug information into the two-way table. Male Female Total Death Row 350 300 650 Life in Prison 50 300 350 Total 400 600 1000

2.Choose a row and column and compare P(A I B) with P(B I A). Explain what each probability means in the context of the situation and data you collected. 3.Compare P(A UPSIDE DOWN U B) with P(AUB), and explain what each probability means in the context of the situation and data you collected.

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

@Michele_Laino if you have some spare time, I'm not all that good with notations

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

P(A|B) is the probability of the event A when B is occurred, and similarly for the symbol P(B|A)

@Michele_Laino could you help me?

I'm very sorry, I'm not good with the conditional probability
