what type of mutation is responsible for Down's Syndrome? a. Substitution during meiosis b. Frameshift mutation during meiosis c. Translocation during meiosis d. Nondisjunction during meiosis.

OpenStudy (alphadxg):

@L.Le.777 well, this technically does not have anything to do with DNA "Technically" because this results in a extra chromosome, so, if this results in a extrachromosome, which specific word is used for cell division that would agree with this "Extra chromosome"?

OpenStudy (alphadxg):

@L.Le.777 for times sake, it's D. You really don't even have to know full understanding, most people know downsyndrome is result of extra chromosome, and the first three answer are mutations that happen as a result in mistakes in cell scanning, but the fourth option is meiosis which is cell divsion, and that would be the most logical answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

d. Nondisjunction during meiosis.

OpenStudy (aaronq):

I'm pretty sure trisomy 21 can also be a result of a Robertsonian translocation

OpenStudy (alphadxg):
