Which of the following transactions was not part of the triangular trade between Europe, Africa, and the Americas? A. Finished goods from Europe were used to purchase slaves in Africa. B. Slaves from Africa were used to produce raw materials in the Americas. C. Raw materials from the Americas were shipped to Europe. D. Slaves from the Americas were sold in Africa in exchange for finished goods.
http://www.landofthebrave.info/triangular-trade.htm I know it's not A because if you look at the link above, it says: "In reality, the journey was more complicated with ships travelling from all over Europe carrying manufactured goods to different ports along the African coast to trade for slaves." it wouldn't be B or C either because right after that it says: "The ships from Africa then sailed across the Atlantic to the Caribbean and Americas to trade the slaves for raw materials. Finally the ships from America returned back to Europe with raw materials such as sugar, tobacco, rice and cotton."
if you look under the subtitle (click the link) "Triangular Trade - The Slave Trade" it says "Leg 2: Ships from Africa would go to the American Colonies via the route known as the 'Middle Passage'. The slaves were exchanged for goods from the Americas, destined for the Slave Plantations Leg 3: Ships from the Americas would then take raw materials back to England. The English would use the raw materials to make 'finished goods'"
hi cole
It's so obvious. You know where the slaves come from. You know how they got the slaves. What is your answer?
