Please Help! I am confused and not sure what to do. :( Factor 3x^2 + 10x + 4. A. (3x – 4)(x – 1) B. (3x – 2)(x – 2) C. (3x – 4)(x + 1) D. The polynomial is prime. I have eliminated A. and D. because I believe they are incorrect.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D is correct because it cannot be factorized

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

hmm.. can you factorise your equation 3x^2 + 10x + 4 ? If you can't, that means it cannot be factorised. Therefore it is called a "prime" polynomial as the only factors that it has is 1 and itself . :)! hope this helped
