FAN AND MEDAL Can the following be angles of a triangle? Why or why not? a. 20 °, 60°, 100° b. 85° , 89° , 6°

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

Well, you know the angle sum of a triangle is 180 from your previous question. Meaning that all 3 angles in a triangle must add up to 180. If the angle sum if above or below 180, it can't be the angles of a triangle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so they can't be a triangle any of them? @butterflydreamer

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

well work it out. plug the three values into the calculator and tell me what you get for a and b.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A=180 and B=180

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

so will they both be the angles of a triangle? :O

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

hint: read what i first wrote in my first comment. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thank you :)

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

no problem ^_^!
