Really would love for someone to help me with this problem it is Geometry and they want me to[2.05] Write the equation of a line perpendicular to the line y = x - 3 and containing the point (8, -2). Show all your work for credit." Just help me out you don't HAVE TO DO IT but help me understand it

Welcome to OpenStudy! It's nice to see users like you that only want some help :) Do you have an idea of how to start this?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

first you need to find the slope of the original equation. The reason we do this is because a perpendicular slope will have a negative reciprocal slope. Do you know the slope of the original equation y = x - 3 ?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

oops...a perpendicular equation will contain the negative reciprocal slope

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

ok...guess I scared calvin away :(

oh no sorry I was trying to see how to work the site sorry but you said first we must find slope intercept form @texaschic101
