This is a study island question. Will medal and fan if correct thank you! Garnet has a container with 14 1/2 cups of flour in it. She can make one dozen muffins with 2 1/2 cups of flour. How many dozens of muffins can Garnet make with the flour she has? 5 1/2 36 1/4 12 5 4/5

OpenStudy (surana):

Probably around 5 1/2 to 5/45.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I honestly think it is A because 2 can not go in to 5

OpenStudy (surana):

Then go with it, I suppose.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is your best guess?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5 and half

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Anyone else think other wise?

OpenStudy (surana):

No, I agree it's 5 1/2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay I am going to try it.

OpenStudy (thehollywoodstud):

i agree 5 and 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It was 5 4/5 e-e

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I will give u the prize anyways

OpenStudy (surana):

You were close.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Like I just don't understand why would it be 5 4/5

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

all u had to do was divide total amount by amount per serving 14.5/2.5=4.8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh...Well I feel stupid.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh it gave me an explanation Next, divide the total cups of flour by the number of cups in one dozen muffins. Remember, dividing by a fraction is the same as multiplying by its reciprocal. The units of the fraction will also flip.

OpenStudy (surana):

Oh.
