Discussion About Lesson Review Quizzes
Ok, so let's say you are in FLVS (Florida Virtual School) where at the end of almost every lesson you have a little quiz you take reviewing the lesson. Sometimes, users are confused on a problem, they look in the lesson, yadda yadda, and don't find what they are looking for, so they ask their question here, on OpenStudy. Would that count as going against the TaC, asking a question from a quiz? See I don't consider these end of the lesson quizlet things to be actual quizzes, but just a little lesson review to help to see if you understand what was taught in the lesson, and if you didn't understand something, and still can't, you should be able to come here and ask about it. I know a lot of students from FLVS do this just to get a better understanding of what they are doing, and some people just say 'oh you're going against the TaC, etc etc, asking quiz questions, etc'
It is different if it is a whole unit test, and a end of the segment test, but I am just talking about these lesson reviews.
Because trust me, I get stuck on these lesson reviews and I don't want to ask here because I don't even know if it is against the OS rules or whatnot, so I decided to clear this up. I know @sleepyjess and I talk about it here and there.

I completely agree, if we were in a regular school that gives out homework, our lesson review "quizzes" would be the homework. But since a lot of online teachers have so many students (I think one of mine has about 500), these are really just to make it easier on the teachers so they aren't grading 1000+ assignments a week in some cases.
Exactly! That is exactly what to call these lesson reviews. Homework!
I know tons of people consider it against the rules, vut come on. You can't really undertand til you take FLVS yourself, haha.
Exactly
My sister, @KaylaIsBae questions about it with me all the time.
Then FLVS should word it differently then...quizzes are quizzes, nonetheless.
They should put "lesson review" or something. xD
They don't name it quizzes, or lesson reviews, or homework. They just name it Assignments/Assessments
Oh...I myself don't take FLVS so I got the wrong impression :P Well Assessments are also considered tests, right? o.O
Every assignment (like every single assignment) is located under assessments. I meant it is either named Assignment, or an Exam. Exams are usually end of module tests, end of year tests, end of segment tests, middle of module tests, etc. http://prntscr.com/6rh1i4 Assignments are the little review things
Yeah, and then like 1 written assignment in each module
Who are some other FLVS students. @Gabylovesyou @undeadknight26
the student is responsible for their own conduct in accordance to their honor codes. But, that being said, if they are asking for help and not for answers, we do not turn them away. they should ask a similar question, or an example to try out. and then apply what they learn to their problems.
Oh yah, those too, haha
@Compassionate , duh

*shrugs* People come here to get help, and so I help them ^_^ If they mention that it's a quiz or something I just tell them to not mention it so I can keep helping xP but if they keep stabbing me with a tag trying to get an answer I'll refuse and tell them I'm not supposed to help on tests :3 *angel face*
=.=
lol ive got help on tests here end of lesson exams actually but i didnt know it breaks rules haha just so many rules here ....-.
@compassionate knows how FLVS views these.
Believe it or not, FLVS will fail you for violating their academic integrity and honor codes. You are not allowed to browse the court on a test. Only on assignments. However, assignments must inherently be your own, without the help from anyone else, unless strictly described in the lesson (e.g.,.. collabs).
oh? so more than half of the questions in math right now are not allowed technically? @Compassionate
haha exactly i hear it alll the time it cant be stopped the answers this site is capable of providing is the reason people sign up
Precisely @sleepyhead314
@mathsciencehistory which is why there are educatiors on this site. They have tracked down many cheaters, and failed them. At the same time, it is the responsibility of other users to get the students back on track in learning properly.
huh well u know if you google whatever problem you have it pulls up openstudy thats how i found out about this site as for me im in regular school my educators are in class with meh hehehe
as for the virtual school goers they can get caught at their own discretion i wont aid either side of that battle
