MEDAL for help: is it D because B and C sound true but they cant both be true

OpenStudy (lexi724):

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

hint: two triangles are similar, when they have their angles congruent each other neatly. Furthermore a rectangle and a trapezoid have not the same shape

OpenStudy (lexi724):

i know not A

OpenStudy (lexi724):

im thinking B

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

that's right!

OpenStudy (lexi724):

yay!

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

:)

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

Correct! Think of two isosoles triangles. One tall and skinny the other short and wide. Clearly their base angles are not congruent so they can't be similar. When faced with a problem like this, try to come up with a "counterexample" (something that shows a statement could be false). |dw:1428586461456:dw|
