need help!

@iYuko

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find three solutions of the equation y=7x-5. a.(3,-26),(1,-12),(3,16) b.-3,-26),(-12,-1), (16,3) c.(-3,-26), 3,16), (1,-12) (-3,-26), -1,12), (2,16)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

plug and play ....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which pair of points has a negative slope? (-3,17), (2,-8) (-3,13), (3,17) (4,26),(-2,-10) (4,14), (-2,-4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

also need help with this

OpenStudy (amistre64):

use the slope formula for the slope one ...

OpenStudy (amistre64):

a shortcut would be to subtract the second point from the first and if they have same signs .. they are positive slope.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so if i put them into a coordinate plane just find the negative slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@amistre64

OpenStudy (amistre64):

thats a good thought, if youve got paper and pencil, plot them relative and draw the line

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, but i still need help this the firsst one

OpenStudy (amistre64):

(4,26) (-2,-10) moves up when we go left to right ... so its positive thats a good method if the mathing is a bother :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the first one, its just plugging in values to see if they are true. i cant multiply and add for you ... what about it is not setting with you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk

OpenStudy (amistre64):

y=7x-5 is (3,-26) a solution? how do we chk?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im unsure

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the only thing i can imagine then is that you do not know how to read a point. (3,-26) means: (x=3, y=-26) y=7x-5 plug them in and see if its true ... -26=7(3)-5 is this true?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks for the help. i got to go.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

good luck
