this is the next question but i can't put anymore in the blue box its making it eeor Express the perimeter of the triangle as a polynomial. Reply Using Drawing A.–11x – 5 B. 11x – 4 C. 10x – 5 D. 11x + 4

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

is there a picture

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes but i can't get it up it in the other question

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

what are the numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4x + 1 left side x - 7 right side 6x + 2 bottom

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

Ok so we add them together

OpenStudy (triciaal):

the perimeter is the sum of the lengths all around the figure for a triangle there are 3 lengths to add

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10x - 3

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

First we move \[4x+x+1-7+6x+2\] Then we add 4x and x to get 5x \[5x+1-7+6x+2\]

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

Then we move 6x \[5x+6x+1-7+2\] and then we add 5x and 6x to get 11x \[11x+1-7+2\]

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

Whats next @Takirap2000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(5x + 6x) + (1 - 7) + 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

11x - 6 + 2 11x - 4

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

Correct :D

OpenStudy (triciaal):

so correct is option B

OpenStudy (triciaal):

the above is correct just a note: because of the commutative property for addition it does not matter how you add the like terms and it saves time if you do the computation in one step all the x together and all the numbers together so x(6 + 4 + 1) + (1 + 2 -7) = 11 x - 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that what i pick

OpenStudy (triciaal):

good. do you have a better understanding as well?
