OpenStudy (anonymous):

there were two speeches one from Brutus and one from Antony questioning Caesar's ability to be king

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you give me a link please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://nfs.sparknotes.com/juliuscaesar/page_132.html

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you reading the modern or original.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

original

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hello?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm still here. Hold on please.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is one of the differences you notice about the speech.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Brutus was trying to persuade the people to betray Julius

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Antony used sarcasm in his speech

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm. I'm not quite understanding this poem.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*speech

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah, if I refresh, it works.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

Is it only this page that the assignment's on?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's just both the speeches Brutus and Antony did

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

I'm trying to understand the dialogue (it kind of doesn't make a lot of sense). XD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Engish 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and its pages 4-6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

Well that clarifies everything. I was reading only one page that's why it didn't make sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

I didn't know it was pages 4-6, I wasn't told...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know I'm sorry

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

It's fine, I was just confused.

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

Antony uses a lot of pathos and ethos (as far as I can tell).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

So you can add that in the essay, along with how Brutus was ambitious and had a goal in mind, while Caesar didn't have his ideals set on his future.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thank you! Is there anything else?

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

I think there's more (still reading). xD

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

Antony didn't really praise Caesar (he belittled him instead), but he openly showed his gratitude and how Brutus was superior and was a better leader (in how I read the text. I don't know the whole story so I could be excluding information).

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

An excerpt to support that: "I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him. The evil that men do lives after them; The good is oft interrèd with their bones. So let it be with Caesar. The noble Brutus Hath told you Caesar was ambitious. If it were so, it was a grievous fault, And grievously hath Caesar answered it. Here, under leave of Brutus and the rest— For Brutus is an honorable man; So are they all, all honorable men— Come I to speak in Caesar’s funeral."

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you is that it?

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

Yeah I believe that's it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much!

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

You can add more quotes if you want.

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

No problem. :)
