Why was the Vietnam War controversial?
You might think this one out a little. Is there ever a war that everyone supports? From you reading, do you have an idea of who opposed it and who supported it? Bring a little more to the table here. I'll be glad to help you through it but I'm not doing for you.
The answer to that first question is no, of course not. But if that's the case, then wouldn't every war be controversial? Why are they asking me about this specific war? That's most of the part that I don't understand, and when I look in my text book for more information, it either doesn't have anything that's needed for this question, or uses words in such a complicated manner that I would need a translator to understand.
Yes, every war is controversial. But the winners write the history so sometimes the opposition view isn't well known. Vietnam was one of the battles in the Cold War. It was a proxy war between Communism and the west. If the cold war had not been going on, it would just be a civil war in a little country that just won independence from France. I know this is getting long. But you'll have a good understanding of it when I'm done. With me?
Well while you were writing that reply, I managed to answer the question. Thanks though.
