The sum of the angle measures of any triangle is 180 degrees. Suppose that one angle in a triangle has a degree measure of 7x+3 and another has a degree measure of 3x-6 . Write an expression for the degree measure of the third angle in the triangle.
@Legends is this the kind of geometry you like by any chance lol
Add the two given angle measures and subtract the sum form 180.
first write the sum of the 2 angles you know i.e. what is 7x+3 + 3x- 6 ??
that's where I'm stuck ( math is not my strong subject at all so I'm sorry if i make it complicated ) I think it's the "x" that is intimidating =o
it does not ask you to solve the value of the 3rd angle. It anly asks you to find an 'expression' You cannot solve the value, because x is not know. so I will write the equation aove in a slightly diferent way: what is 7x+3x + 3 -6
oh ok so 10x - 3
Yes good Now that is the sum of the 2 known angles , and oyu know that all 3 angles add up to 180 so the last angle must be 180 - sum of others write that down using the numbers you answered above...
180 - 10x -3
180 - ( 10x -3)
OK - that is good - but you need to be careful of the minus sign. It is beeter if you write it like this: OK you got it
thank you!! =)
now do that sum, being careful when you put the minus sign 'inside' the bracket
