ive seen this topic in many places especially from @thepotatoking81 and i think its true we should have some more freedom in the music section or a subsection to differentiate music theory and the other category so we can post songs or lyrics and talk about them any feedback on this would be nice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes I agree there should be

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea they just want us to sign away evrything where worth but the fact is we signed and because of that they win every tif automatically

We have limits for everything. OpenStudy isn't a site to trash it, not to offend anyone. For example, if I love a song called, "Rooftops" and i post it in the Music Section and be like, "Any Feedback?" Now by doing this, other users will think that they can do the same(which they will do) and just post any songs they like. One of the main purposes of the Music Section is to post your own music or whatever and ask for Feedback. There are many tutorials or posts posted in the Music Section about the rules and guidelines. Check them out!!:)

For more information, you can ask, @e.mccormick

haha ive seen poopsies work and it doesnt really matter to me im ot one to fall in line so its more for people that actually fear os rules

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wat do you mean

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Have you actually read the music group rules? I ask because what you are saying makes no sense if you have read them. See, students in the music group already "can post songs or lyrics and talk about them" as long as only a few criteria are met: 1) It is an original work. 2) The feedback is actually feedback and not just spamming, "I like it" and other non-helpful replies. 3) It meets the language standards. The entire site is about learning. When you learn music, composition, etc, you need to do these things and then get valuable feedback. This includes things like discussions of the flow of the work, so a song that has no beat to it may get comments on the timing. On a performance it includes discussions on the quality and character of the performance. All of that is already allowed. On the other hand, posting profane lyrics, even **** out ones, is not allowed. It violates the rules. Posting a song just to try and get medals is a medal party and not allowed. Posting a song just to try and get views on a video or other promotion is advertizing and not allowed. Posting replies that are simplistic and not a critique are spam. Saying you like something is not scholarly feedback. You need to define why you like it for it to be any form of a critique. From the very start, the music group has been abused. It was almost closed and removed early on. That is still an option if the abuse gets out of hand. This is why moderators are very strict about cleaning out the music group.

Guidelines are meant to benefit users and keep the site user-friendly.

some people are actually afraid of the consequences i had someone back out on something after he found out he had a chance of getting suspended

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, if it was something that breaks the rules, there are consequences. This is no different than any other rule system.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea it definitly breaks rules alot of them by alot of people actually

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not allowed to participate but it seems well thought out
