Basalt, formed from magma, contains iron-rich minerals. Why is this important? A. Iron is magnetic and it triggers the reversal of Earth's magnetic field. B. Iron is rich in nutrients and makes the soil easily identifiable. C. Iron is magnetic and records the orientation and direction of Earth's magnetic field.
D.
That was my first answer but it was wrong. Sorry I didn't mean to put D up there.
It could be A, but the thing is I do not agree that reverses the Earth's magnetic field. That does not make sense.
I would go for C. Is it correct?
I'll try it, give me a second.
Away if you are counting.
Just a joke. Take your time.
It was correct, thank you!
Now let me tell you why.
It is true that iron is magnetic from nature and because of that , especially in the ancient times it had been used in ''magnetic needles'' used in compasses in order to direct then from the cardial points (north, south, etc). That is because as it is magnetic it automatically connect's with Earth's magnetic field in specific and accurate directions.
No problem.
Thanks again for the help.
