When you are trying to find the probability of rolling the dice a number of times for example, you would have to multiply each scenario. In the first scenario you can anything but 4 since 4 can only roll up on the forth time you roll the dice. Do the same for each scenario. Careful, the last scenario (the forth time you roll the dice) is different.
