well i looked at the picture and found w=3 l=40 a=3 b=7 h=6 and next i put that into the formula V = H[ab + 0.5(W-a)b + 0.5(L-b)a + (1/3)(W-a)(L-b)]

oh okay, i think i get it now...... i just looked at my book and it says that you can also use V=lxwxh, so i guess i just didn't look, thank you for the help, i appreciate it!!!
