Solve for n: 9(n + 1) > 3(n – 5) n > 4 n < -4 n > -4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Left Side- 9 x N = 9N 9 x 1 = 9. 9n + 1 Right Side- 3 x N = 3N 3 X -5 = -15 3N - 15 9N + 1 > 3N - 15

Do you get it so far? @princesslizzy16

okay now i do now that you have broken it down for me

Good @princesslizzy16

n>-4 . this is why 9(n +1) > 3(n-5) you have to distribute your 9 to your (n+1) which gives you 9n+9 then you have to do the same with your second equation. 3n-15 next you subtract one of your 3n to each side giving you 6n + 9>-15 because when you subtract it cancels out the 3n that was already there. you then subtract your 9 to each side canceling out your 9 for one side and giving you -24 on the other. that gives you 6n>-24 then you divide your 6 to each side leaving your n and itll look like 6n/6>-24/6. that will then give you n>-4. you can check my work, i could be wrong but i think im right?.
