Which value on the number line is the best estimate of the center of the data set? ( i think 115) http://static.k12.com/calms_media/media/1578500_1579000/1578591/1/559bdb04a90f7e0900b26d8ec97496d13e41a6f3/MS_IMB_1400122-113075.jpg

im pretty sure that's right... @Alexistheamazing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea that is right @Hannah_Waller @Alexistheamazing

OpenStudy (mrnood):

no I don't think that IS correct

OpenStudy (mrnood):

the centre of the set has the same number of samples above it as below count the crosses There is a value which meets the above definition - and it is not 115

OpenStudy (mrnood):

There are 3 'normal' ways of defining the 'centre' of th edata: Mean (add all values and divide by number of samples) Median (the middle value when all samples are listed sequentially) Mode: (The value that occurs most frequently in the list) 115 is none of those

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is 110

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you see the number that has most x and 110 is that number

OpenStudy (mrnood):

@bilaleid Both 110 and 120 have the same number of points - so your answer is not entirely correct.

What was the answer? I need it to pass! Please help! @MrNood
