undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

@amistre64 @dan815 @DarkBlueChocobo @freckles @confluxepic @e.mccormick Can chu help dis luvleh purson?

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

Th simplest of the simplest. Just plug in the values. @AllyBearxx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How would i do that?

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

\(\huge\ f(x)=9x+7\)

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

On the side it shows the values of x.

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

\(\huge\ f(-2)=9(-2)+7\) \(\huge\ 9(-2)+7=-11.\)

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

\(\huge\ f(0)=9(0)+7=?\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

16?

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

Anything multiplied with 0 would become 0.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohk

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

So 0+7=?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

Yes.

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

Then fill in that value in that chart.

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

http://prntscr.com/6x1e2m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats where i was trying to put it, thank you i just couldnt figure out how cx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so then the next one?

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

\(\huge\ f(1)=9(1)+7=?\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that one is 16 cx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right? @confluxepic

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okk, could you add that to the chart for me? im unable to xc

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

http://prntscr.com/6x1gwx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Awesome, so the next one?

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

\(\huge\ f(2)=9(2)+7=?\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

25?

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay i added it this time using the website you did, next one?

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

\(\huge\ g(x)=5^x=?\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that one looks different than the others, how do i solve that?

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

\(\huge\ g(-2)=5^{-2}=?\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh, -10?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and then the next one is -5?

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

No.

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

Lets do this one first. \(\huge\ g(2)=5^{2}=?\)

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

http://www.purplemath.com/modules/exponent.htm

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

Lets do this one first. \(\huge\ 5^{2}=5\times 5=?\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5x5 is 25

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhhh to the power of

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be 5 ÷ 5?

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

25 was correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

positive or negative? cuz its a negative exponent

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so then what is the equation for the next one?

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

I made it 5 to the power of 2.

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

Which would be 25.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so thats the answer for that one?

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

http://prntscr.com/6x1o1f

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooh gotcha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what about the first 2 for that column?

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

If you look at the question you can tell that we don't have to do those. You already got your answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh i did?

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

Where did the 25's appear twice?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait so is it 2, or 25?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cuz it appeared with 2x, but then they were both 25's so im confused on that

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

They would both equal 25 only when x=2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so its c :D

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks so much c:
