Please help with math problem....
The surface area can be found by adding up all of the areas of the faces.
Let's start by finding the area of one of the tall sides. What's the base? What's the height?
@DDCamp The base is 5 right? the heights are 9.2 and 5.2
Where'd the 5 come from?
I meant 6. @DDCamp
OK, that's what I thought. So, if the base is six and the height is 9.2, what's the area of ONE of the tall triangles?
a=1/2(6)(9.2) =29.6
@DDCamp
That's the right equation, but that's not the answer my calculator got.
6 * 9.2 = 55.2 (1/2) * 55.92 = 27.6
Now, what's the area of the base?
@DDCamp wouldn't it be 27.6(3)? or 2
There are three triangles with area 27.6, and then the base triangle, in the total surface area.
I'd love to help more, but I need to get to class. Good luck with the rest of your problems!
Okay thanks @DDCamp
