Point A(4, 2) is translated according to the rule (x, y) -> (x + 1, y – 5) and then reflected across the y-axis. a) In which quadrant of the coordinate plane is point A located? b) what are the coordinates of translated point A'? in which quadrant of the coordinate plane is point A located? c) what are the coordinates of reflected point A''? in in which quadrant of the coordinate plane is point A located?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

didn't I see you with the same pic and a different account

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yay i had to change my account because of my computer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (matlee):

lol

OpenStudy (matlee):

tiffinay is that u?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

who

OpenStudy (matlee):

my friend looks just like that ansd goes to my school

OpenStudy (ahumada_freddie):

i say its c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh cool

OpenStudy (matlee):

ok :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i think those are part of the questions

OpenStudy (ahumada_freddie):

what is part of the question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a, b, and c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a) In which quadrant of the coordinate plane is point A located? b) what are the coordinates of translated point A'? in which quadrant of the coordinate plane is point A located? c) what are the coordinates of reflected point A''? in in which quadrant of the coordinate plane is point A located?

OpenStudy (ahumada_freddie):

u making me confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think they are part of the question because it say Medals 0 a) In which quadrant of the coordinate plane is point A located? b) what are the coordinates of translated point A'? in which quadrant of the coordinate plane is point A located? c) what are the coordinates of reflected point A''?

OpenStudy (ahumada_freddie):

am thinking A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i got A now i just need b and c this is A. Any point is in the form (x,y) If x is positive then y is negative (since "The coordinates of an ordered pair have opposite signs"). This would mean that the point is in the fourth quadrant. OR If x is negative, then y is positive. So this point would be in the second quadrant.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops not that one this is A.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Take it in steps: according to the rule (x,y)↦(x+1,y−5).
