-World War II led to the deaths of at least twenty million people in the Soviet Union, many of whom died in Nazi camps. - The term concentration camp refers to a camp in which people are detained or confined, usually under harsh conditions and without regard to legal norms of arrest and imprisonment that are acceptable in a constitutional democracy. In Nazi Germany between 1933 and 1945, concentration camps (Konzentrationslager; KL or KZ) were an integral feature of the regime. Stalin and Hitler both used "Forced labor camps", "Concentration Camps", "Death Camps", "Gulag Camp" Stalin - "Many felt that death would have been merciful when they were sentenced to life in a Gulag Labour Camp. Nearly 500 camps and colonies were established in the Soviet Union, mainly in the remotest areas of Siberia and millions died in the extreme conditions."
