a hot air balloon descends at a rate of 320 feet per minute for 3 minutes. Use integers to calculate and represent the balloons total change in altitude. Note: remember to show all of the steps that you use to solve the problem

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

@ilovepuppys Look at your question carefully. It says: \(\sf descends ~at~ a~ rate ~of~ 320~ feet ~per\) \(\bf minute\)

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

It says per MINUTE. And it wants to know how much we descend in 3 Minutes. So would we multiply, divide, add, or subtract?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

See we know that change in altitude = speed X time by definition. So speed here is 320 ft/min. and time is 3 min. so total altitude change will be 320*3 = 960 feets.

@TheSmartOne OOps. I am sorry sabbotaged your method of teaching.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

@bhucho.sen It's ok, just make sure next time you also teach the asker :) Because "OpenStudy values the Learning process - not the ‘Give you an answer’ process" http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct
