If x + b > c and x > 0 have the same solutions, what is the relationship between b and c? Help

OpenStudy (mimi_x3):

I was thinking that b=c=0 So x+0>0 and x>0 both have the same solution set

geerky42 (geerky42):

It is also true for \(b=c=1\), \(b=c=2\), and so on, so I would say that \(b\) and \(c\) have to be equal for \(x+b>c\) and \(x>0\) to have same solutions.

geerky42 (geerky42):

Start at \(x>0\), then you add both sides by \(b\), and you have \(x+b>b\) So clearly \(b=c\) for \(x+b>c\) and \(x>0\) to have same solutions.

Does that help? @anikkie
