Find an equation for the nth term of the arithmetic sequence. -17, -13, -9, -5, ... an = -17 x 4(n - 1) an = -17 + 4(n + 1) an = -17 + 4(n + 2) an = -17 + 4(n - 1)

I just need a bit of help i know the pattern has to do with the adding of 4 to get the number but i just dont know if i got the actual sequence right. I got B!

OpenStudy (triciaal):

d = 4 correct a1 given = -17 to get the nth term use Tn = a1 + (n-1)d

OpenStudy (triciaal):

not B, check your choices using the formula

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh so wouldnt it be d then!? because of the term@triciaal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you there!? @triciaal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@FibonacciChick666 any help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know its not B, C, or A so i strobly think its D lol

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

Hey, so for this, you need a recursive sequence yea?

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

So my question to you is, how can you use n+1 if you don't know n?

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

check this website out, you shall find what you seek there https://www.mathsisfun.com/algebra/sequences-sums-arithmetic.html @dirtyblondezzz

OpenStudy (triciaal):

yes it would be D
