OpenStudy (theopenstudyowl):

Hello all, how do I become a qualified helper here @Openstudy????? I am pretty smart, my SAT score was only a 1700 but I never really studied for it. I am taking 6 AP exams next week and I have a vast knowledge foundation. i want to help people out and maybe make a few bucks on the side too! Is there a standard protocol for this kind of job at openstudy?

http://openstudy.com/whats-new

OpenStudy (theraggedydoctor):

Read that.

OpenStudy (theopenstudyowl):

yah I have but how do I become a qualified helper?

OpenStudy (theopenstudyowl):

thankyou!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it says you must have a smart score at 80, not lower

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

QH are a small group of outstanding and dedicated helpers that have been trained to help users get fast and detailed help on their questions. Moderators and users with SmartScore 80 and above can apply to be Qualified Helpers. Non-moderator applicants must: - Have at least one title - No suspensions - Send in a ID - Sign a agreement - Go through the selection and interview process - Go through training - Commit at least 2 hours a day to OpenStudy Apply here to be a Qualified Helper: http://goo.gl/wUODVK

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

Raise your SmartScore first. ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what does send in a id mean, like your username or real name?

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

Sending an ID means sending a picture of yourself, like a driver's licence that shows your birth date.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, but what if you dont have a licence, can you use a birth certificate?

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

School id will suffice.

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

yes, or library card, or school ID just has to have your name (to show you are a real person) and hint at your age (must be older than 13)

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

Don't use a birth certificate, that's tmi :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whats sign a agreement?

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

it's basically a promise that you won't help the askers cheat on tests, will actually give them help, actually spend time on openstudy as a Qualified helper etc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok, thanks for answer my questions :)

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

Maybe get to 80 SS. :)

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

There is always someone before.

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

Personally, from what I have understood about the Qualified Helper selection process and comparing the users that have been selected vs the rejected, Moderators have a 100% applied/accepted rate while for non moderators, all have been 99ss with a minimum knowledge of Calculus 1 (as in including all math knowledge from Pre-Algebra to and including Calculus) (Achieving a 5 on an APCalc Test is a plus) Good luck to those applying!

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

You don't apply,

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

Point is you have to meet all the requirements.

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

There is no application to become a Mod exceptional users who have dedicated their lives to OpenStudy are offered a chance

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok
