idk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im bad at wisker plots

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@KyanTheDoodle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know what each part on the box and whisker plot means?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not really will you help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure! the middle line on the box is the median. You know how to find the median? The other two lines, or where the box ends are the quartiles. These can be found once you have the median. We have the numbers 27, 14, 46, 38, 32, 18, 21 Let's put them in order 14, 18, 21, 27, 32, 38, 46 The median is the one in the middle, or 27. So on the plot the middle line in the box should be at 27.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh omg thank youuu

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would the answer be the 4th one??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to find the quartiles we will use the same setup |dw:1430254086632:dw| The lower quartile is the one in the middle from the lowest to the median. and the upper quartile is the one in the middle from the median to the higher number so the box should start at 18 and end at 38. The whiskers are the range. so the left whisker should stretch to 14 and the right whisker should stretch to 46

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure would!

thank you!
