Where might a slave captured in what is today Nigeria most likely have been shipped? A. the Caribbean and North America B. Brazil C. Spanish colony of Peru D. Persia
I would say the answer is A...
Depending on the year, it was probably the salt mines of Ghana or Mali. But thats not an option. So, The Spanish did a pretty effective job of enslaving the natives in Peru. Persia had there own sources of slaves. If the African tribe that captured the slave sold him/her to the Portugese, the first European slave buyers, the slave would go to Brazil. West African's tolerated Caribbean diseases better than European indentured servants. And the Portugese lost control of West Africa and went further south for most of their slaves. So your looking at a Nigerian, Malia or Ghanese chief who sold an enemy tribesmen to English traders to end up in Jamaica, Barbados or Virginia, or a Spanish trader headed for Puerto Rico or the Domican, or a French trader going to Haiti.
