What happens when gasoline is used to power a vehicle? A. Energy is neither lost nor gained as it transforms from chemical, to heat, to mechanical energy. B. Energy is lost as chemical energy transforms to heat energy but gained as heat energy transforms to mechanical. C. Energy is gained as chemical energy transforms to heat energy but lost as heat energy transforms to mechanical. D. Energy is neither lost nor gained as it transforms from chemical, to potential, to electrical energy.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think its A or C

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

I think that we have a transformation of energy only, and, if we neglect dispersion of heat and friction phenomena, we have a conservation of the chemical energy from the combustion of the gasoline

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so probably B or C since both of them is transforming into heat energy but is energy being gained?

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

I think C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks for the help

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

thanks!

your welcomeee
