I really love Open Study, but at times people giving answers dont give answers but rather and equation that makes it that much harder. Yes you should help them but from what i have read in the replies you seem like a real "retrice. The questions i look up are from a test, but most of this we dont learn from our statistics teachers and now we are supposed to know how to do it. Its impossible to do so, so i come looking for help but rather get nothing.
so, you are saying you get no help?
At times i get no help, yeah i dont want the answer right away but help me and guide me on how its done. Dont just give me formulas and assume i know how to do it, when the teachers who are supposed to "teach" showed us other work.
okay I hear what you are saying, but they do that to help you learn and understand.
i understand youre trying to help but tossing me formulas doesnt really help. Like explain what goes where and ill start understanding it and might be able to do other problems from what you have thought me.
I never helped you on anything O.o
in general
okay, so why don't you ask instead of complaining?
How do i ask ?
a question?
you were saying that someone helped you and threw formulas at you, you should know how to ask a question.
And not complaining i just thought this would be like Constructive Criticism ?? Just putting my thoughts out there about OpenStudy
well, we have differing degrees of abilities on here. some people give out direct answers like: its 30 others figure that since you are taking a course that you might have been familiar with the formulas in that course and present you with one that you should already know. others try to draw you into the solution process by seeing what you know and how to work thru the problem so that you get a better comprehension of it.
So what youre saying you guys ( internet teachers ) what ill call yall, approach it all different and assume either we know it or should know some of it to understand the formulas given to us ?
@amistre64 is so right :)
Yes. @IzzyBlizzy All of us don't operate under the same mind.
We have our own way to teach other users. And I agree with @shifuyanli ; when we help you and you don't understand or something, you can just ask for clarification.
Honestly, this is study site, so all of us are just bunch of users. User either comes here to help, or comes here to get helped.
So when something like that happen to you, best you can do is just asking for clarification.
I mean some of the questions are months and year(s) old, would someone still see my response or should i just ask again ?
You can just bump the question. If the question is closed then just ask a new one.
*cough* *cough* >The questions i look up are from a test We have an anti-cheating policy on OpenStudy and you are NOT allowed to ask test questions. Please read the anti-cheating policy: http://pages.citebite.com/a4o3b6r4a2tjy
Also, OpenStudy is for \(\tt learning\) not for \(\tt answers\). If you come to OpenStudy to get answers, well you have found the wrong site. In our Code of Conduct, it says: \(\bf Give~ Help, ~Not ~Answers-\) \(\text{I will encourage and guide those needing help, and not just give}\\\text{them an answer}\) \(\bf OpenStudy~ values~ the~ \it Learning ~\bf ~process - not~ the ~\\‘Give ~you~ an~ answer’~ process\) \(\bullet\) Don’t post only answers - guide the asker to a solution. \(\bullet\) Have homework problems? We can help you - as long as you are looking to learn how to get your solution (and not just the answer). \(\bullet\) Please do not copy and paste your problems. If people are going to spend time to help you, you should at least spend the time to ask your question as clearly as possible. \(\bf Don't ~devalue ~the ~question/answer~ process!\) \(\bullet\) Don't provide someone with just the answer - explain the process, and help guide them through understanding the problem. \(\bullet\) Don't just provide the answer to a problem when someone else is in the middle of helping! But if you want to help, by all means, join in! http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct
