9x^2+y^2=9 y=9x^2+3

OpenStudy (mrnood):

the second equation gives you y = (something ) so wherever there is a y in the fist equation substitute the (something) from the second...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

even though its y^2 in the first one?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

yeah - but you need to square the y value from the second. It is going to lead to a complicated equation in x....

OpenStudy (mrnood):

y^2 = (9x^2+3)^2

OpenStudy (mrnood):

are you sure you typed the question correctly?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i did beside the second problem is suppose to be -9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did what you said and i got 81x^4+63x^2+9=9

OpenStudy (mrnood):

OK - I didn't do it but it looks about right there is a factor of 3 you can remove...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

should i do this or no |dw:1430601787264:dw|
