i need to graph y is less than or equal to negative 5, but i'm not sure which side of the graph to use or what part i'm supposed to shade in (if any), please help!
what side of the graph has y values that are less than -5?
left?
the y axis is in what direction on a graph?
straight up and down
correct, so left and right mean nothing to the y axis
ok so do i go down on the y axis to -5?
do you know how to graph the line, y = -5?
yes. stay on the y axis and go down to -5 on the vertical line?
yes, and then draw a flat line thru y=-5 (all the points that have a y part of -5) |dw:1430679374789:dw|
now, we want to indicate all the points that are defined by a y values that is less then -5 what side of the line has all the points that fit this rule?
but im having trouble getting that line to stay straight across b/c it puts the coordinates at like -5, -10
the top part of the line
what are you trying to graph it with? sounds like you might be inputing something wrong
hang on ill take a screenshot and send it
i sent it
i believe you select the line tool is this mathlab by chance?
no this is webassign taking a test for my online class
so i select the vertical line starting from the negative 5 ?
i dont have a guide for your app there so i cant really say what to do thats a technical issue ...
hmm okay thanks anyway
