OpenStudy (amistre64):

that website never loads a picture up for me ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh I'm sorry :/ I'll try imgur

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's not letting me paste hold on

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i hope its not something simple like: 3+x = 5 ... you sure you cant type it out?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if i could attach a mouse and keyboard to my phone life would be simpler :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

exactly omg

OpenStudy (amistre64):

well, how would you say we determine range to start with?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not sure, it confuses me. Will you help explain it ?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

ill walk you thru it, but you have to have some basic knowledge here. and that basic knowledge is a definition of range. your course material should define it for you. i need you to find it so that it sticks better in your mind rather then me just stating it.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

not sure is fine, if you are wrong i can correct it. i just need to know what your thinking it is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh I know how to determine range aha, find the difference between the highest and lowest number

OpenStudy (amistre64):

very good, now tell me what you would consider the highest and lowest values from the stem leaf chart

OpenStudy (anonymous):

highest would be 9 and lowest would be 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

unless it means the leaf, then it would be 10 and 6

OpenStudy (amistre64):

stem + leaf = values for example: 2 | 0 0 1 3 3 means ... 20 20 21 23 23

OpenStudy (amistre64):

our lowest and highest values would therefore be in the parts defined by 6 | xx to 10 | xx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OHHH

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this makes a lot more sense now

OpenStudy (amistre64):

6 | 1 7 9, will have our low end 10 | 0 0 will have our hight end

OpenStudy (anonymous):

61, 67, 69 100, 100 right?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

yeah, so 61 and 100 defines the interval we are concerned with whats the range of this interval?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

39

OpenStudy (amistre64):

40-1 correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so is that the answer?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

well yeah, we define the range as the difference between highest and lowest as a general rule of thumb, when you get to the end, stop.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thank you. I would medal but I can't on an iPad so I became a fan

OpenStudy (amistre64):

'sok, a thank you suffices for me. good luck :)
