The following function represents the profit P(n), in dollars, that a concert promoter makes by selling tickets for n dollars each: P(n) = -250n2 + 2,500n - 4,000 Part A: What are the zeroes of the above function, and what do they represent? Show your work. Part B: Find the maximum profit by completing the square of the function P(n). Show the steps of your work. Part C: What is the axis of symmetry of the function P(n)? @welshfella

For part a I think the 0's are 2 and 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B and C are my problem

OpenStudy (welshfella):

yes thats right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got to be done by 1:30 and its 1:04

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And I have one more after this

OpenStudy (welshfella):

well i have to go to Welsh class so i have about 10 minutes

OpenStudy (welshfella):

see if i remembet this complete the square first take - 250 out -250(n^2 - 10n + 16) = -250 [ (n - 5)^2 -25 + 16] = -250 [(n-5)^2 - 9] the maximum value of this is -9*-250 = 2250

OpenStudy (welshfella):

thats the maxm profit

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is C

OpenStudy (welshfella):

axis of symmetry is n = 5

OpenStudy (welshfella):

graph will look something like |dw:1430846009687:dw|
