****Will Fan & Medal**** Help Geometry Malfunctions HELP What is the formula to finding the area of a prism or 3D figure?

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

do you mean surface area or volume?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Surface Area

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Jamierox4ev3r So can you help?

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

oh okay. So for a prism, the formula is this: The surface area of a prism = 2 × area of base + perimeter of base × H

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

and this goes for any prism :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im confused....

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

So for any prism, be it a rectangular prism, or triangular prism, you just have to be sure that you find the area of the base first, and then the sides. Then you would be able to feasibly find the surface area

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you actually just write out the equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does anybody know the actual equation for finding the surface area of a prism??? @january123 @lol999 @dan815 @Data_LG2 @SydtheKid913 @bigbadsports98

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what type of prism? rectangular? triangular? @HackberryAbby18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (january123):

I would kust google how to...and then wait for my reaulys

OpenStudy (anonymous):

same here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

formula = 2(wl+hl+hw)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for a rectangular prism that is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im guessing the answer is c) 35cm^2; 266cm^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think you got the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you help again?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@kalahkid or maybe @lol999
