Algebra II What is the average rate of change from x = −3 to x = 3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Hero - can you help me with this, please? I am struggling to understand how to solve this.

@Nnesha @wio @bahrom7893 Please, please can you help me with this algebra 2, and I definitely would give you a medal and become a fan of your. PLEASE....

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

start by finding the y values for x = -3 and x = 3

Nnesha (nnesha):

average rate = slope so pick two points and use slope formula when x = -3 y = ? (-3 , ?) when x = 3 , y = ? (3, ?)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, the slope is 1.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Nnesha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(-3, -1) and (3, 5). So, the slope is 1.

Nnesha (nnesha):

nope remember formula \[\huge\rm \frac{ y_2 - y_1}{ x_2 - x_1 }\] negative at denominator

Nnesha (nnesha):

nvm

But there are no answers that match my answer? What is the average rate of change from x = −5 to x = −4? a) 3 b)4 c)−5 d)−2

Nnesha (nnesha):

\(\color{blue}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @Cecilia.d So, the slope is 1. \(\color{blue}{\text{End of Quote}}\) yes that's right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry! I didn't pay attention carefully, and thank you :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you so much :)

Nnesha (nnesha):

my pleasure :-)
