Two equations are given below: a − 3b = 9 a = b − 3 What is the solution to the set of equations in the form (a, b)? (−9, −6) (−4, −3) (−6, −3) (−9, −7)
(-9,-6) -9-3(-6)--> -9+18=9 a=b-3--> -9=-6-3
how do you come up with that
are you still there
yea so its like any equation that has an x and a y. all you have to do is substitute the letters for the numbers you are given in your choices so your first ordered pair you are given is:(-9,-6) so now you have to plug in the numbers given the equations a − 3b = 9 and a=b-3 so a=-9 and b=-6 so we plug those numbers into the first equation -9-3(-6)=9 so first we do -3*-6 which equals 18 then we subtract 9 and get 9
Since a=b-3 use b-3 to replace a in the first equation then the first equation becomes: b-3-3b=9 so -2b=12 b=-6 then a=b-3=-6-3=-9
oh okay thanks, and @hockeychick23 do you actually play hockey
the second equation is easier so again a= -9 and b=-6 -9= -6-3 -6+(-3) does equal -9 and yes i do play ice hockey :)
this is just one question not two
what team @hockeychick23
are you there
this is only one question
the junior ducks
im confused
one person is saying something different than the other person
