OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just need form Dan, I love you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're my hero

OpenStudy (dan815):

okay okay i want to help you do it yourself xDD

OpenStudy (dan815):

we know that it must have (x-1)^2 in there because we have a x^2-2x+....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol every time i do it it is wrong

OpenStudy (dan815):

now that you know (x-1)^2 <----- what constant term comes from expanding this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2?

OpenStudy (dan815):

remember foil method (x-1)(x-1) = x^2 -2x + 1

OpenStudy (dan815):

so we added a +1 term with that squaring so we subtract it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well the video said to take the number with x and divide it by 2, so the 2x would be 1 then square it to get 2?

OpenStudy (dan815):

\[(x-1)^2-1 -13 =0\\ (x-1)^2-14=0\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so form is (x-1)^2=-14?

OpenStudy (dan815):

+14 since you will ad +14 to both sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my bad positive 14

OpenStudy (dan815):

yep :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so form is (x-1)^2=14?

OpenStudy (dan815):

yep
